“I’ve been thinking a lot lately about single moms. I guess it’s because there are so many of my college students that fall into that category. I watch them – and they struggle – but they don’t give up. They all want something better for their children. Most – if not all – are tired. They work, go to school, take care of the kids (alone) – everything falls on them. Grocery shopping, homework, car problems, bills, and the list goes on. And not only are they tired, many are insecure about the future (their own and their children’s), they have doubts, fear and a whole  range of other emotions. Then there’s the loneliness. Sure, they are surrounded by children – maybe even dogs and cats – but they so desperately would love to have a meaningful, adult conversation. So, with the start of this New Year, I’d like for us to rally around our single moms and minister to them. Encourage them. Pray for them. Love them. Show them Jesus!”
